Marsden John “Pic” Dupuy, age 92 of Texas

Marsden John “Pic” Dupuy, 92 years of age, passed away in his sleep at Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas, May 16th, 2015.

Pic was born on January 24, 1923 in Marksville, Louisiana, the youngest of eight children, to his parents Henry Emeric Dupuy and Laure Marie Moreau, affectionately known as "Mamee" & "Papee". Pic served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He was a fighter pilot and rose to the rank of captain at the age of 19, and was the recipient of the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

After the war, Pic returned to civilian life and earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University. There he met the love of his life, Seewee Edgar, whom he married in December 20, 1947 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

After college, Pic began his professional career as a roughneck working on oil rigs and advanced through a series of professional positions that included Production Engineer for Jefferson Lake Sulphur, Director of Mexican Operations for Gulf Resources, and Vice President of Gulf Resources.

In 1960, Pic and Seewee took their three children and two dogs to live in Veracruz, Mexico, where Pic assumed management of a failing sulphur mine. He became the respected and beloved leader of that company and its community in an isolated, tropical area known as Salinas. Through his hard work, dedication, and deep integrity, Pic turned this operation around and his subsequent career consisted of vertical promotions and ever increasing spheres of corporate and executive responsibilities.

Pic retired as the President of Jefferson Lake Sulphur and as the Vice President in charge of Sales and Distribution of Occidental Chemical. In 1974 he and Seewee moved to Wharton, Texas, where they lived until the present.

Pic was truly beloved, admired and respected by all those who knew him. He will be remembered for his courage, honesty, ironclad integrity, and delightful, disarming, self-deprecating, and warm sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his family and loved ones and held in our hearts as a role model whom we strive to emulate.

Pic was preceded in death by his son Richard Alan Dupuy and is survived by his beloved wife, Seewee, and his sons, Frank Charles (Patricia) Dupuy and John Douglas (Pamela) Dupuy, his grandchildren, Suzanna Adria Dupuy,

Romeo Emmanuel Dupuy, Christina Marie Dupuy (Brian), Adrian Curtis Dupuy, John David Dupuy (Karissa), Rose Clark, Maggie Dupuy Perez, Marylou Diamant, and his many great grandchildren, including Nicholas, Gianna, Olivia, Allan, Emily, Julianna, Taven, and Bennett.
