MARKSVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Florence Guichard Gauthier was held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville with Father Rusty Rabalais officiating. Entombment was in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville. Arrangements were under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Gauthier, age 65, of Marksville, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Grace Home in Alexandria. She was born on June 6, 1951. She was an LPN for 45 years having worked the majority of those years for Dr. Bryan McCann. Mrs. “Flo” was a Eucharistic Minister and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church whose hobbies included crocheting, painting, flower gardening, shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Francis and Geraldine Moreau Guichard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Ronald Gauthier of Marksville; two sons, Brady (Angela) Gauthier of Marksville, Jason (Celeste) Gauthier of Marksville; one sister, JoAnn Rachal of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Hannah Gauthier of Marksville and Sadie Gauthier of Marksville.
Pallbearers honored to serve were Doni Gauthier, Mickey Gauthier, Gregory Rachal, Tommy Moreau, Matthew Foster, and Tyler Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Terrel Moreau and Alex Carmouche.
