Brenda Ruth “Marcy” Friels, age 61 of Cottonport

    COTTONPORT- Funeral services for Brenda Ruth “Marcy” Friels were held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. at First Evening Star Baptist Church of Cottonport, where Pastor Greg Jackson officiated. Burial followed in Old Zion Cemetery under the direction of Progressive Funeral Home of Bunkie.
    March, age 61, of Cottonport, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
    Brenda was a member of First Evening Star and in spite of her confinement to a wheelchair, she pressed her way to Church as often as she could. She was employed with Avoyelles Manor and Bayou Vista Manor until her health began to decline.
    Those left to treasure her memory two sons, Kenneth Friels of Moreauville and Willie Friels, III. of Moreauville; five daughters, Lisa Thomas of Cottonport, Willie Mae Friels of Cheneyville, Christal Friels of Cottonport, LaKyna Friels of Cottonport, LaQuitha Friels of Cottonport, and Willie Mae Friels of Cheneyville; two brothers, Edward Caldwell of Cottonport and James Moore, Sr. of Cottonport; four sisters, Connie Adams of Odenburg, Shirley Friels of Cottonport, Pamela Jones of Cottonport, and Marilyn Caldwell of Cottonport; 24 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two god daughters, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
    Pallbearers were, Isiah Butler, DeMarcus Friels, Desmond Adams, DeVon Demouy, DeVante Caldwell, Mike Dixon, and Jerel Friels.
