The parish’s three high school football teams will play Round 1 playoff games this Friday.
Marksville will play at home while Avoyelles and Bunkie will be on the road.
The Tigers, District 3AAA champions, are seeded fifth in Class AAA with a 9-1 record. They will host the 28th-seeded Patterson Lumberjacks, who finished with a 3-7 record.
The 29th-seeded Avoyelles Mustangs (4-6) just barely missed having a rematch with their District 3AAA and in-parish rival. Instead, they must travel to face the 4th-seeded Lutcher Bulldogs (8-2) in a rematch of last year’s Round 1 playoff game, which Lutcher won.
In Class-AA, the 26th-seeded Bunkie Panthers (4-6) travel to Loreauville to face the 7th-seeded Tigers (8-2).
Tickets for all games are $8 and will kickoff at 7 p.m.
