The Avoyelles Police Jury has closed four parish roads due to rising water.

   The Simmesport-Bordelonville (S & B) Cutoff and Log Road near Bordelonville were closed Friday, as was Scroggs Road and Big Creek Road in the Effie area.

   Police Jury President Charles Jones said the roads will be closed for three to six weeks to allow time for the water to recede and necessary maintenance to be done to allow the roads to be reopened.
