One dead in motorcycle accident on Little River Road

AVOYELLES PARISH, LA – A Marksville man died today after the motorcycle he was operating struck a pickup truck head-on.

 

On August 7, 2015, at 3:15 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a two-vehicle crash on Little River Road in Avoyelles Parish.  The preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Honda motorcycle operated by 45-year-old Danny S. Clark of Marksville was traveling northeast on Little River Road.  Clark was operating the motorcycle on the left side of the centerline in the opposing lane of travel 

as he passed two vehicles.  A 2005 Ford F-150 driven by 53-year-old Leroy Lemoine of Hamburg was traveling southwest on Little River Road.  Lemoine encountered the motorcycle heading straight for him and drove off the right side of the road in an attempt to avoid a collision.  The motorcycle struck the pickup truck head-on and became lodged beneath the truck.

 

Clark was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office.  Lemoine was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

 

Toxicology samples were obtained from the drivers for analysis.  The crash remains under investigation.

 

A traffic accident on Little River Road, just off of Spring Bayou Road in Marksville has left one person dead. There are very few details available at this time, however, two vehicles were involved including a motorcycle. According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the motorcycle was killed but state police have not released any information. The accident was reported at 3:14 p.m.
