Kennedy Center accepting job applications

  The Kennedy Center of Louisiana in Avoyelles will be taking job applications from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Marksville Elementary School cafeteria located on Fair Street in Marksville.

   The positions will be filled on an as-needed basis if student enrollment reaches the maximum count. Applicants are asked to bring a current resumé when picking up the application. 
   The enrollment period for the Kennedy Center of Louisiana in Avoyelles will be held at Avoyelles public schools in conjunction with the open house at each school. A “Kennedy Center” table will be set up at each open house. 
   Enrollment is limited to the first 100 enrollees at the elementary schools and the first 75 at the high schools. 
   The Kennedy Center program will begin  Sept. 14 at Avoyelles High, Bunkie Elementary, Bunkie New Tech High, Marksville Elementary, Marksville High and Riverside Elementary.
    Students in grades 3-11 are eligible to enroll. The 2 1/2-hour program is held Mondays-Thursdays immediately following the close of the regular school day. 
   Students are offered opportunities to engage in fun activities including arts and crafts, sports activities, painting, keyboarding and much more, a Kennedy Center spokesman said. 
   One Saturday of the month, students are taken on an educational, fun and cultural field trip in Louisiana.
