Jo Hamilton, Hope Center founder dies

Jo Hamilton, founder and long time director of the Hope Center in Marksville has passed away. She died this morning, Wednesday, August 5 at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria. Arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Services have not been announced but will be posted as soon as they are available.

Hamilton, along with her husband, Jim assisted men and women in Avoyelles and surrounding areas with addiction. She was a strong believer in the 12 step program and wanted people to recover and live happy lives. The Hope Center is one of the most successful recovery center in the state.
