Cheneyville man arrested for disturbing the peace at nursing home incident

Police unsure if shot fired

A Cheneyville man has been charged with disturbing the peace in connection with an incident at Colonial Nursing Home Thursday night.
Aubrey Blue, 32, of 1023 Hwy 71 in Cheneyville, was arrested by Marksville police officers after the glass of a side door was broken. Police Chief Elster Smith said it was unclear whether the glass was broken by a gunshot or by a thrown object. There were no injuries in the incident.
No weapon had been recovered as of Friday morning. Smith said surveillance video will be reviewed to determine what happened.
Police were called at 7:45 p.m. and Blue was arrested at a residence on Oak Street in Marksville a short time later.
The nursing home immediately went on “lockdown” when the incident occurred.
Smith said Blue had been involved in an incident at the nursing home that afternoon.
Blue was booked into Avoyelles Detention Center #1 on two counts of disturbing the peace and one count of remaining on a premises after being told to leave. No bond had been set as of press time Friday.
