Catahoula Lake Diversion Canal Boat Launch on Dewey W. Wills WMA Closed

Aug. 23, 2016 - The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has closed the boat launch located on the Catahoula Lake Diversion Canal at Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area (WMA) until further notice.

The launch has experienced permanent damage due to severe erosion and is unsafe for use.

LDWF has begun repair work on the structure and will announce when it is ready.

Dewey W. Wills WMA, which consists of 63,901 acres, is located in Catahoula, LaSalle, and Rapides Parishes, 20 miles northeast of Alexandria. For more information on this WMA, go to http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2753.
