WOODSIDE - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Lee Daniels will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Little Zion Baptist Church in Bayou Current with Rev. Wilson Reed officiating at the service. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Woodside. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Williams Funeral Home of Opelousas.
Visiting hours will be observed from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Little Zion Baptist Church.  Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 9 a.m.
Ms. Martha Lee Daniels, age 87, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2016 at her residence in Simmesport. She was born on January 19, 1929.
Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Saul Daniels, Sr.; a son, Saul Daniels, Jr.; a son-in-law, Dempsey Pierre, Jr.; parents, Sylvester Harris and Ozena Washington Harris; a brother, James Harris; and two sisters, Asabe Harris and Mary Scott.
Mrs. Daniels is survived by her two sons, Russell Lee of San Francisco, California and Samuel Daniels of Holly Spring, Mississippi; two daughters, Bobbie Lewis of Simmesport and Linda Pierre of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Rubie Lee Fowler of Destin, Florida and Dorothy Harris of Odenburg; a God daughter, Diane Kirk of Simmesport; her caregiver, Romanda Guillory of Simmesport; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
