COTTONPORT - A Mass of Christian Burial for John Lawrence “Johnny” Ducote of Walker will be held at 12 noon of Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport by by Rev. Walter C. Ajaero. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.
Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resumed on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, 820 Front St., Cottonport, LA, from 10 am until the 12 noon services.
Ducote was a native of Cottonport and resident of Walker. Johnny passed away at home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at age 59.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence J. and Viola McDonald Ducote; brother, Nelson Ducote; brothers-in-law, Nick Ferrara and Gerald Lachney; and a nephew, Joseph Ducote.
He is survived by four sisters, Beryl (Norman) Robert, Marlene Ferrara, Martha Lachney, and Glenda (Phil) Cypriano; sister-in-law, Shirley Ducote; 16 nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
It is with great sadness that our precious brother left this world and went to Heaven. He was an amazing person who made this world a better place. He touched many lives in a special and Godly way. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
