Tameka Renee Caldwell Butler age 40 of Cottonport

COTTONPORT, LA- Funeral services for Mrs. Tameka Renee Caldwell-Butler will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at the First Evening Star Baptist Church in Cottonport, LA, where Reverend Greg Jackson will officiate. A public viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday morning. Committal services will follow at the Old Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonport. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robinson Family Mortuary of Pineville, LA.
Without much time to say farewell or goodbye, the hourglass of earthly time expired on Sister Tameka Butler on Sunday evening, March 20, 2016, at the Bunkie General Hospital, in Bunkie, LA. God, in His infinite wisdom and grace, quietly called home His child.
Tameka was born on January 12, 1976, in Bunkie, LA. She was baptized by the late Reverend Remus Thomas, at the First Evening Star Baptist Church in Cottonport, LA, on July 7, 1984. She attended Avoyelles public schools. During her adulthood, she was employed at Valley View Nursing Home, Westside Rehabilitation Center, and Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Department. Very family oriented, Mrs. Butler had a kind and compassionate heart towards all.
Tameka Renee was united in Holy Matrimony to Isiah Butler, Jr., on October 6, 2001. She was the proud mother of four (4) children: Devante Caldwell, La’Trakus Butler, Ty’Travion Butler, and Ashanti Butler, all of Cottonport, LA. Mrs. Butler was the attentive grandmother of four (4) grandchildren: Destiny Lachney of Marksville, LA, Devante’ Ford, D’Myiah Caldwell, and D’Marion Ford, all of Cottonport, LA. She also leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Marilyn Caldwell of Cottonport, LA; four (4) brothers, Bradley Caldwell of Bunkie, LA, Jonas Caldwell of Cottonport, LA, Michael Reed and Richard Reed, Jr., both of Marksville, LA; two (2) sisters, Victoria (Ralph) Alexander of Marksville, LA and Nicky Griffin of Bunkie, LA; three (3) uncles, Edward Caldwell and James Moore, Sr., both of Cottonport, LA and Johnny Reed III of Hessmer, LA; five (5) aunts, Pamela (Carl) Jones and Shirley (Donald) Friels, both of Cottonport, LA, Connie (Wayne) Adams of Odenburg, LA, Mary L. (Weldon) Ford of Hickory Hill, LA, and Maxine Franklin of Marksville, LA; her mother-in-law, Mildred Butler of Cottonport; three (3) God-children, Diante Anderson, Cayden Franklin, and Ladarrius Butler; six (6) God-sisters; eight (8) God-brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved family members, and friends.
Tameka was preceded in death by her brother, Brad Joseph Caldwell; her father, Rick Reed; maternal grandparents, Essie Mae Wells Caldwell and Arthur Davis Caldwell, Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Sybil and Johnny Reed; her uncle, Arthur Davis “AC” Caldwell, Jr.; her aunts, Ruby Lee Caldwell Jones, Charlene Caldwell Prater, and Brenda Caldwell Friels; and her father-in-law, Isiah Butler, Sr.
Active pallbearers honored to serve will be Daniel L. Wycoff, Michael Eldridge, Willie Friels III, David Butler, Demarcus Friels, Milton Butler, Desmond Adams, and James Butler
