Pearline Conway Simon age 82 ; of Marksville

 

Funeral Services for Pearline Conway Simon age 82 ; of Marksville, LA., will be held at 11 AM on Saturday  April 11, 2015 at St. John Community Church-Baptist in Marksville, LA.. Burial will follow in Starlight Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory Hill, LA. under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.

Ms. Simon passed away on Saturday April 4, 2015 in Valley View Health Care Center in Marksville, LA. 

Pearl Conway Simon was born on August 27, 1932 to the late Matthew Conway, Sr. and Elnezia Lockwood Conway in Marksville, LA.  She was the third of six children born to this union, all of whom preceded her in death. Two brothers Earl Conway and Matthew Conway, Jr.; three sisters Mary Lee Shuler, Betty Ford and Geneva Johnson.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. J.C. Johnson. Sister Simon remained a faithful member of Starlight until her health failed. She was a dedicated faithful member and worker in the church where she served as a Bible School Teacher, member of the Senior Choir, member of the Usher Board and member of the Women’s Mission Auxiliary.

She was also a member of Sweet Beulah Chapter #63 Order of Eastern Star.

On October 23, 1949, Pearline Conway was joined in holy matrimony to Earnest Simon in Marksville, LA. To this union eleven children were born with two preceding her in death Robert Wayne Simon and Rachel Simon. She also had seven grandchildren and one God-child that preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, yet cherish her memory four sons Aaron Simon (Renae), Lionel Simon (Gwendolyn) and Michael Simon (Jessie) all of Marksville, LA. and Gary Lee Simon of Flint, MI; five daughters Rev. Bernadine Simon Davis of Austin, TX., Gloria Augustine (Robert), Opal “Cookie” Johnson (Vernon her special friend), Debra Ford (Michael) and Charlene Renee Simon all of Marksville, LA.;

one adopted son: Edward Charles Conway of Marksville, LA; one adopted daughter: Amy Whittington of Bayou Chicot, LA.; for God-children Faye Bonton, Wisa O’Quinn, Carl Lavallais and Angela Patterson all of Marksville; one aunt Thelma Conway of Marksville, LA.; forty-three grandchildren; seventy-six great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 from 8 AM until service time at.
