Louis Howell Swann, Jr. dies at age 72

GOUDEAU -  Louis H. Swann, Jr. age 72 of Goudeau went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his home. Louis was born on April, 22, 1942 and raised in Bunkie. He moved to Walker where he resided for 30 years before moving back toward home to Goudeau.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. Sr. and Marie Swann; sister, Suzanne Middleton; first wife, and mother of his children, Lynne G. Swann. 

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Dolores Fogleman Swann of Goudeau; two sisters, Jana Klock of Bunkie and Marie Jeanne Bruce of Shreveport; children, Louis “Lou” Swann, III of Walker, Brandi (Kerry) Goodman of Meridian, Mississippi, Kirt (Donna) Cason of Livonia, Kim (Lance) Woodard of Kosciusko, Mississippi and Kevin (Sandra “Sam”) Cason of Big Cane; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis was a Vietnam Veteran, who did two tours with the 101st Airborne with long range reconnaissance platoon. He retired for Exxon Chemical Corporation and spent his retirement enjoying fishing, cooking and gardening.

Louis’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be interred in the Pythian Cemetery at a later date.
