Leatus “Lee” Storey

Funeral services for Mr. Leatus “Lee” Storey, Jr. will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Reverend Mike Wilkinson officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.Mr. Storey, age 54, of Pineville, passed away at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria on Thursday, March 12, 2015.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leatus Storey, Sr. and Connie Burley Storey. He was a graduate of USL with an Associate Degree in General Studies received in 1990 and a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies in 1992. Leatus was a volunteer for The Extra Mile serving in many positions. He was also employed by The Extra Mile as Activity Director at New Beginnings Drop In Center in Jonesville, LA and at the CTC Gift Shop in Pineville, LA. Leatus was trained as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator. This enabled Leatus to assist others in developing a WRAP plan to use as a tool to stay well, maintain relationships, and recover a full life. Helping others identify those who support you in life and prevent crisis.He was a true advocate for people living with mental illness and would assist them as needed. He was well loved by staff, volunteers and consumers of The Extra Mile. Survivors include his wife, Mandy Faye Storey of Pineville, stepson, Travis Villemarette, five sisters, Leah Storey Rogers (Dick) of Heber Springs, AR, Frances Storey Price (Warren) of Ethel, LA, Sydney Storey White (Bill) of Orange County, CA, Stephanie Storey Blunschi (Johnny) of Ferriday, LA and Deborah Storey Odom (Billy) of Jackson, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Dennie LaFleur, Travis Villemarette, Richard L. Rogers, Gregory E. Decker, Chad LaFleur, John E. Blunschi, III, and Eddie Buhler. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Taylor Price, William Paul Odom, and William Edward White.
