Lawrence ''Chock'' Taylor age 72 of Plaucheville

Funeral services for Lawrence ''Chock'' Taylor of Plaucheville will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 beginning at 11am at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. Visitation will take place Friday, January 22, 2016 beginning at 5pm until 10pm at Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport and will reopen at 8am Saturday morning until the time of service. Interment will commence in the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Lawrence ''Chock'' Taylor, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Taylor; sister, Gayle Marino, brother, Anthony Taylor. Chock was a life-long resident of Plaucheville where he thrived and raised his family. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after serving for 30 years. He established a successful pecan harvesting business, in which he ran for the past 35 years. He served as Mayor of Plaucheville for 4 years. He was currently serving as Mayor pro-tempore and served as Alderman for 24 years.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carol Taylor of Plaucheville; daughters, Sherry Taylor Bordelon and Candace Taylor Chenevert (Jody) all of Plaucheville; son, Brad Taylor of Alexandria; mother, Addis Lemoine Taylor of Plaucheville; sisters, Marlene Taylor, Iris Callegari, and Linda Lewis all of Lafayette; brothers, Richard Taylor of Baton Rouge, Gerald Taylor of Plaucheville; grandchildren, Rhett Bordelon, Laken Chenevert Moreau (Dustin), Olivia Chenevert, Jaden Chenevert; great-grandchild, Mary Millicent Moreau. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
