Huron James Laborde, age 81, of Metairie formerly of Hessmer

Metairie – Huron James Laborde, age 81, of Metairie formally of Hessmer, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:40 A.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Laborde was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed spending time at his camp and loved fishing. His most treasured time was every Saturday evening having all of his family at his home spending quality time together. Huron, with his great smile, will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Mr. Laborde will now be joined in Heaven by his parents, Lionel and Volcie Ponthier Laborde and all of his siblings, which included five brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years, Barbara Stelly Laborde, children, Huron “Tee” Laborde, Jr. and wife, Joyce, Cheryl Laborde Ohlmeyer and husband, Allen, David Laborde and wife, Lori, All of Metairie, Stepson, Gary Veade of Baton Rouge, grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren, Lance, David, Jr. and Brandon Laborde, Kyle and Cassie Ohlmeyer and one Great grandson, Benjamin Jones.
The Laborde Family has requested visitation to be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
