Avoyelles WWII book released on Veteran's Day for 75th anniversary of war

World War II saw who many consider “the greatest generation” of Americans sent to war with Nazi Germany and others, many to never return. In honor of the 75th anniversary of the conflict, “Men and Women of World War II from Avoyelles Parish” has been reprinted. The book features over 1,000 photos of the men and women of Avoyelles Parish who have served. The reprinting also features photos and stories of both the USS Bordelon and USS Chatelain, both named for Avoyelles soldiers who died in the war and photos taken by soldiers during their time overseas. The back cover immortalizes the names of hundreds of men from Avoyelles who lost their lives during the war.
