Squirrel season garage sales listed
"Squirrel widows" and some men will be on a different kind of hunt this weekend. The long standing Avoyelles Parish tradition of declaring the opening weekend of squirrel hunting season an unofficial parish holiday will continue this year. As many men take to the woods to open their camps and hunt for squirrels, many women are left for a weekend to themselves. It is during this weekend that dozens of garage sales pop up across the parish.
