Red River flood warning

      The Flood Warning continues for  the Red River near Alexandria,  to Saturday (June 06)  or until the warning is cancelled.

      At  1 p.m. Wednesday the stage was 31.2 feet. Moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
 
      Forecast: The river will remain steady for the next several days. A  rise to moderate flood stage is forecast to occur during the first  week of June and crest at 37.5 feet on or around June 8.
 
      Impact: At stages near 37.5 feet water reaches tops of rails of  the Texas and Pacific Railroad bridge at Boyce. Considerable backwater  flooding will occur.  Additionally, considerable overflow below Alexandria to the confluence with the Black River occurs. Backwater begins along inflow bayous.
