Avoyelles inmate who escpaped captured in Oklahoma by US Marshals

According to APSO Chief Deputy Steven Martel, an escaped Avoyelles inmate was captured early this morning by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Oklahoma City. He is incarcerated and will be waiting extradition back to Louisiana to face charges. He had been missing since August 21.

Travis Randle, 42, of Alexandira, escaped August 21 from Avoyelles Parish Detention Center 2 east of Bunkie early in a Sunday morning.

Randle went out with kitchen workers and headed towards the fence. That is where APSO said Randle was "obviously assisted by someone on the outside" and cut through the fence then headed towards the woods. The Avoyells Parish Correctional Center's Tracking Team searched for Randle in the woods, but later determined he was picked on the nearby state highway.

Randle is a pretrial detainee yet to receive his sentencing. He was booked on possession of firearm-felon, possession of CDS and obstruction of justice. Randle now will have an added charge for simple escape.
