APSO seeks suspect in Bunkie stabbing case

Law enforcement officials are seeking a Bunkie man accused of stabbing another man Wednesday night.

 

Matthew Thomas Clark, 26, of Bunkie is wanted on a charge of attempted 2nd-degree murder in connection with the stabbing of Arturo Valdez, also of Bunkie, Avoyelles Sheriff Doug Anderson said. Valdez sustained a serious wound and was in stable condition in an area hospital Thursday.

 

The incident occurred about 7 p.m. Wednesday in a house on La. Hwy 29, apparently during an argument over money, Anderson said. Clark fled the scene after the incident and was still at large as of Journal presstime Thursday.

 

Anderson said Clark should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call APSO at 253-4000 or their local police department.
