Doll & Toy Fund distributions to be held in Avoyelles

Doll and Toy Fund distributions will be held in Marksville this Saturday and in Bunkie this coming Monday and Tuesday.
The annual fundraisers collect money to purchase toys for the economically less fortunate in the parish.

Marksville
The annual Margaret Michel Memorial Doll & Toy Fund toy distribution to Marksville children and the Marksville Police Department’s Christmas bicycle giveaway program will be held this Saturday at the City Hall complex.
Every child in Marksville will be entitled to receive a toy through the Doll & Toy Fund distribution, Mayor John Lemoine said at last Wednesday’s City Council meeting.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon in the Fire Station Community Room, adjacent to the N. Main Street fire station.
The child must be present at the distribution to receive a toy.
A bicycle giveaway will begin at noon in front of the old fire station, across from City Hall.
Children who will receive a bicycle have been pre-chosen by the Marksville Police Department through an application process held earlier in the year.
Each child who has been chosen for a free bicycle must be present at the giveaway to receive their prize.
For more information contact Marksville City Hall at 253-9500.

Bunkie
The Bunkie Doll & Toy Fund distribution to children of selected needy families will be held this coming Monday and Tuesday. The annual toy drive is sponsored by the Bunkie Rotary Club.
Bunkie area schools are asked to submit a list of children who may need gifts for the holiday season.
The Rotarians collect donations and purchase the gifts. Members of the Rotary and of LaSAS’ Interact Club wrap and present the gifts to the children.
The Rotary Club also provides food items to needy families to provide a Christmas meal.
