Avoyelles High celebrates Homecoming this week

Will play Vidalia Vikings Friday night
The Avoyelles High School Mustangs will kick-off homecoming activities at the school in Moreauville for the 2015 football season this Friday when they host the Vidalia Vikings in a district game.
Homecoming week will feature dress-up days at the school with Victory over Vikings themes as follows: Monday- “Merica Monday;” Tuesday- “Twinning Tuesday;” Wednesday- “Walt Disney Wednesday;” Thursday- “Class Theme Thursday” and Friday- “AHS Friday.”
The homecoming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, starting at Avoyelles High School on Main Street, traveling down Main to the village hall, turning right onto Bayou Des Glaises St., then down Lemoine St. and back to the campus.
After the parade, a pep rally will be held at the football field, where this year’s homecoming court will be presented.
Other activities include Homecoming dances at the school on Saturday. The middle school dance will be from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by the high school dance from 9:30-11:30 p.m.
