Greenhouse may not be released on bond today

Norris Greenhouse Jr. -- one of two law enforcement officers accused of 2nd-degree murder of a 6-year-old boy -- may not be released on bond today, as had been expected. Greenhouse's family has reportedly put up property in Avoyelles Parish and outside the parish to raise the $1 million bond for his release.

Avoyelles Parish Sheriff Doug Anderson said Greenhouse could be released tomorrow.

There has been no word on whether Derrick Stafford, the other man charged with Jeremy Mardis' murder, will be released on bond.

Greenhouse and Stafford were on duty as deputies with the Ward 2/Marksville City Marshal's Office on Nov. 3 when they pursued Chris Few through town and down a dead end street. They then fired between 17-21 shots into the car, killing the child and seriously wounding Few. A body camera video from another officer who arrived on the scene reportedly shows that Few had raised his hands before the two officers began shooting.
