Bunkie Fire Fighters Fill the Boot to Raise
Critical Funds for Local MDA Families

Members of the Bunkie Fire Department, together with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will be out in Bunkie with boots in hand for the fire fighters' annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to help free kids and adults from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility
On Main St. and Church St., Saturday, October 1, from 7:30 am- 12:30 pm
For more than six decades, fire fighters have stood on the front lines to fuel MDA’s mission to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy and other related life-threatening diseases that take away people’s ability to walk, move, smile, talk and even breathe.

Funds raised through 2016 BunkieFill the Boot drives empower families with life-enhancing resources and support, including state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers, including the MDA Care Center at the Rapides Specialty Clinic in Alexandria.

They also help give more than 80 local kids the opportunity to experience the best week of the year where anything is possible at MDA summer camp at no cost to their families at Camp Starlite (Camp Grant Walker, Pollock, LA).
