Mary Rebecca Biles Wisener, age 72, of San Diego, California

A memorial service for Mary Rebecca Biles Wisener will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Church in Encinitas, California. Burial will be held at a later date at the Biles Family Plat at Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie.
Mary, age 72, of San Diego, California, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary was born on December 16, 1943, in Bunkie. After graduating in 1961, from Bunkie High School in 1961, she attended LSU and later transferred to UL. She worked as a secretary at Cleco in Eola, before marrying and moving to Mississippi. In the course and Mary and Lionel journey together the resided together in Mississippi, Tennessee, and California.
Mary’s first priority was always her family. When her two children were older, she rejoined the working world. She was the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Special Education of Santa Clara, California. This is a very large school district near San Jose, California. May was in charge of managing a huge staff of over 80 principals. Her boss, Dr. Fimiani said he had never had anyone as competent or as bright as Mary work for him. Everything Mary did, she did with great passion and determination. Her warm Southern personality expressed her enthusiasm for life, which was contagious to all who knew her.
Mary’s greatest accomplishment was her family. She laid the foundation for her children and her grandchildren never to value to valueless. Mary was the epitome of a true moral compass. She was a hammer for justice, and stood up for her beliefs. She carved her reality by her word, which was her bond. She can best be described as love and action. Mary was a blessing and a gift to all her family and friends. She retained all of her friendships from her childhood in Bunkie, and she will forever live in all of our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Tootsie Biles and her nephew, Daniel Y. Sanders.
Mary is survived by her husband, Lionel Wisener; her son, Gregory Wisener; one daughter, Wendi Wisener Forbes; three grandchildren, Zoey Forbes, Kiah Forbes, and Truman Forbes; three siblings, Dr. Andrew R. Biles, William A. Biles, and Sarah Biles Fletcher; three nephews, Trevi Biles, Darren Biles, and Andrew Sanders; one niece, Ali Biles; sister-in-law, Jackie Biles; brother-in-law, Dr. Don Fletcher; and two great-nieces, Aislinn Sanders and Neila Sanders.
