Hessmer – A Funeral Mass for Lucille “Lucy” Poirrier Ducote will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Father Edwin Rodriguez, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.
Ducote, age 79 of Hessmer passed away at Avoyelles Hospital on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:20 p.m.
Lucy is a native of Gonzales and was a graduate of Gonzales High School, class of 1955. She relocated to Hessmer after retirement with Chem Spray South with many years of service. During her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, spending time in prayer and always treasured family time. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Lucy will now be joined in Heaven by her parents, Dewey and Ina Villar Poirrier; sister, Helen Templet; nephew, Don Duplessis; and niece, Monique Ory.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 43 years, Floyd Ducote of Hessmer; children, Sonya Ducote (Charles, Jr.) DuBois of Orange, Texas, and Tony Ducote of Hessmer; brothers, Lionel Poirrier of Gonzales and Landis Poirrier of Gonzales; grandchildren, Nicholas Ducote, Abbie Ducote, Kimberly DuBois and Benjamin DuBois; and one great-grandchild, Carmela Ducote.
The Ducote Family has requested visitation to be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 334 Acton Rd., Marksville on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville, (318-240-7188).
