Lillian Prier, age 83, of Mansura

MANSURA - Funeral services for Lillian Prier of Hessmer, formerly a resident of Mansura, will take place at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura on Saturday, December 3, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. with Father Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held that morning at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura beginning at 8 a.m.
Lillian Brooks Prier, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Hessmer Nursing Facility in Hessmer. Lillian was born on March 24, 1933 to the late Harry and Louisiana Sampson Brooks.
Lillian was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, member of the St. Peter Claver Court 174, and member of the Altar Society. She worked and retired from the Garan Manufacturing Clothing and Textile Plant in Marksville. Lillian married the late Allen J. Prier in February of 1950 and to this union, six children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, three sisters, one brother, and her son-in-law.
Lillian leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters, Gilda Prier Augustine of Mansura, Marcia Demouy (Mike) Jones of Fifth Ward; three sons, Allen J Prier, Jr. of Mansura, James (Janice) Prier of Mansura, and Kenneth Prier of Mansura; and one step-son, Ernest (Alice) Prier of Richmond, California; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Michael (Sarah) Brooks of Mansura and Charles (Patricia) Brooks of Mansura; one sister, Antoinette Brooks of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
