State offices in Avoyelles Parish closed due to flood conditions

Also those in Allen, Evangeline, Pointe Coupee and St. Landry parishes

Due to the extreme flooding situation throughout parts of Louisiana, Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne is announcing that state government offices will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 17, in the following parishes: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Vermilion, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana. These are different parishes than were closed Monday and today.

Essential personnel not dealing with personal flood damage or helping others should contact their supervisors.
