SULPHUR -- The St. Joseph’s of Plaucheville Lady Eagles are headed to the Class C championship game.

No. 2 St. Joe’s defeated No. 3 Northside Christian 4-3 in dramatic fashion Saturday on Field 19 at Frasch Park. After watching the Lady Warriors tie the game in the top of the seventh, the Lady Eagles punched their ticket in bottom frame.
With two outs and a runner on first and second, junior catcher Alexis Barker stepped in the batter’s box. After having a game-winning hit go foul, Barker laced a single in between third base and shortstop which brought home Emily Link for the winning run.

St. Joe’s is the title game for the first time since 2007 and will now face defending state champion Hackberry at 5 p.m. on Field 13.
